Step-by-Step Oil Level Checking Protocol
Follow this standard maintenance sequence using a clean lint-free towel or microfiber cloth.
1.Park and Level the Vehicle:1-2 minutes.
Park on a completely level surface and switch off the ignition. Wait 5 to 10 minutes so oil drains out of the cylinder head channels back down into the crankcase oil pan.
2.Locate and Pull the Dipstick:1 minute.
Pop the hood and locate the bright yellow or orange plastic handle marked with an oil can icon. Pull the dipstick straight out in one continuous motion.
3.Wipe Clean and Re-insert Fully:1 minute.
Wipe all oil off the metal tip using a lint-free shop towel to remove splash marks. Reinsert the dipstick fully into the dipstick tube until the rubber seal seats flush.
