You can stop Adobe Acrobat from automatically opening downloaded PDF files by changing your web browser settings. In Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, navigate to Settings, open Privacy and Security, select Site Settings, and locate Additional Content Settings for PDF Documents. Turn on the option to download PDFs instead of automatically opening them inside the browser or desktop application. This ensures your files save quietly to your computer without launching Adobe Acrobat immediately.
